Biblical scripture indicates that surrounding planet earth there is a kingdom of darkness, which for a short time is ruled by Satan (John 12:31; Ephesians 2:2; Revelation 12:12). During Jesus time on earth, He cast out many demons, confirming their reality (Matthew 12:22-29; 15:22-28; 17:14-20; Mark 5:1-6).
Demons are not deceased people, for the Bible tells us those who are unsaved and dead, are confined in a place of torment, and unable to return to the earth realm (Psalm 9:17; Luke 16:23; Rev. 20:13). Genesis 6:1-4, relates to the Nephilim, who were called mighty men of renown (v. 4) and "sons of God." The Nephilim lusted after, and had sex with the daughter's of human men, creating a *sub-group of offspring. Charles C. Rypie, "Basic Theology," page 181, writes: "To validate this suggestion requires at least two assumptions; (a) the sons of God are angels and (b) the offspring were not human. That the sons of God were angels is a possible view, but that the offspring were demons is most unlikely."
* UFO LINK TO THE NEPHILIM:
On a side note of reference, most people involved with UFO self - knowledge, education, and information, seem to hold the view that Aliens are the offspring of the Nephilim.
THE FALLEN ANGELS
Satan is the prince of demons (Matthew 12:24 - niv). With well-organized ranks of angels, two of which are labeled rules and authorities, which Rypie confirms, "are the same designations for two of the ranks of good angels (Ephesians 3:10; 6:12). This seems to indicate that the same kinds of beings make up the personnel of these ranks, and therefore that evil beings are fallen angels. ...in several places demons are called spirits (though unclean spirits), which associates them with the spirit world of angels, not humans."
Still other fallen angels the Bible tells us, are in confinement, albeit temporarily so (in the abyss - Luke 8:31; Revelation 9:1-3, 11). While other fallen angels are permanently confined in Tartarus (2nd Peter 2:4; Jude 6). Some are awaiting final judgement, while others will be let loosed earth bound (Rev. 9:1-3, 11, 14, 16:14).
CORRELATIONS WITHIN SATAN'S KINGDOM
An example of Biblical correlation concerning Satan's dark kingdom is read in Daniel 10:10-13, 20, as the angel of the Lord was hindered from reaching Daniel and answering his prayers. "Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in reponse to your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia (Satan's ranking angel in his kingdom - over Persia) was withstanding me for twenty-one days; then behold Michael (God's ranking-mighty angel), one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with kings of Persia." - Daniel 10:12-13.
Satan himself is called "the prince of the air" (Ephesians 2:2). Like a roaring Lion the Devil prowls around, seeking whom he may devour (1st Peter 5:8), for he desires to sift us like wheat (Luke 22:31). His spiritual army hovers the earth's atmosphere for an open door-way into your heart, mind, and soul (Job 1:6-7; Job 2:1-2). Satan may appear disquised, masquerading as a "deceptive angel of light" (2 Corinthians 11:14). But his true intent and nature is that of a theif. Who only comes to steal and kill and destroy (John - 10:10). He is the accuser of the Christian brothers and sisters in Christ (Revelation 12:10). And he is filled with fury because he knows his time is short (Revelation 12:12).
In verse 20 we read, "...But I shall now return to fight against the prince of Persia; so I am going forth, and behold, the prince of Greece is about to come." Thus we know there are ranks, assigned areas, and Military leader's within Satan's kingdom, and our heavenly Father's Kingdom. We know God is ruler of the Kingdom of Light (Colossians 1:12). He is King, and for now, His mighty Kingdon is not of this world (John 18:36-37).
God created all things, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created for Him and by Him (Colossians 1:16). The war between God's Kingdom of light, and Satan's dark, oppressive kingdom, will be won for all time, as God issues His power and authority.
"And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon (Satan). And the dragon (Satan) and his angels waged war, and they were not strong enough..." - Revelation 12:7-8; 10-11. God wins the war (Revelation 20).
SATAN IS CALLED THE PRINCE OF THE AIR - AND FOR A SHORT TIME (MATTHEW 24:22-25), THE RULER OF THIS WORLD
"...in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience." - Ephesians 2:2
"Now judgement is upon this world; now the ruler of this world shall be cast out." - John 12:31 NAS
"I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me;" - John 14:30 NAS
RANK AND ORDER OF SATAN'S KINGDOM
The rank and order of Satan's kingdom of angels, authorites, principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, wicked spirits, and demons, hold vast power and strength. But they are no match for God's power (Acts 19:11-12). For Christ has defeated Satan on the Cross of Calvary! The believer stands firm in this resolve, as we have been provided God's spiritual armour (2nd Corinthians 2:11; 10:4-5). Therefore, we in Christ have nothing to fear (2nd Timothy 1:7). "And the Lord utters His voice before His army; Surely His camp is very great, For strong is He who carries out His word.
The day of the Lord is indeed great and very awesome, And who can endure it?" - Joel 2:11. As Christians, we know according to God's word, there are angels in Satan's kingdom of darkness who are his messengers (Psalm 78:49, Revelation 12:7-9, Romans 8:38). When Satan fell by choice, a following of angels fell with him (Rev. 12:9). The Bible points to a third of the angels in heaven took up Satan's cause of pride and rebellion (Rev. 12:4).
You will never be able to effectively deal with Satanic evil power if there is an open door of sin within your life that Satan can use to his advantage. For the pure of heart abiding in God, we rest knowing, "The wicked one does not touch him," (1st John 5:18). "The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul," (Psalm 121:7). As we die to self and surrender to God's will working within us, we rest in His sovereign security as well. "Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away, " (Hebrews 2:1).
